Greetings!

...it's me, Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Bangladeshi, Research Fellow at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC-ICMA) on the project of H2020-MSCA-ITN ED-ARCHMAT in cotutelle with the University of Burgos (Spain), University of Evora (Portugal) and Museum of Human Evolution (Spain).

I have successfully accomplished Erasmus Mundus European Master in ARCHaeological MATerials Science (ARCHMAT), specializing the subject of 'Sciences and Technologies for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage', achieved 110/110 Summa cum Laude (Highest possible Distinction in Italian system); a joint ERASMUS MUNDUS Master Degree (2015-2017) awarded by the three full partners: University of Evora (Portugal), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy). I have also completed my graduation (B.Sc. Engineering) and post-graduation (M.S. Engineering) program from the department of Applied Physics, Electronics & Communication Engineering (APECE) under the Faculty of Engineering, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Moreover I have some scientific publications, participated in different conferences, seminars, workshops, events and projects in the different country of the world.

Prior to my study & research work, currently I am volunteering as a Country Ambassador of Bangladesh and Vice-President of South Asian Chapter at the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA), also working with most renowned engineering societies as a professional member (IEEE, E-MRS, IES etc). Besides, I like to do social activity for humanity most. I was the Founder President of University Students Parliament (Bissobiddhaloy Chatra Songsod) Comilla, Bangladesh and I have active engagement with some social organizations in Bangladesh & abroad; have achieved some prestigious awards; most recently awarded with ‘Youth Ambassadors of Evora, Portugal’ in order to promote and reveal the UNESCO Heritage City of Evora around the world.

I have visited Portugal, Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Vatican, Germany, Bulgeria, Malta, Turkey, Belgium and India for professional purposes. Actually I like to travel and experiencing different cultures, to work in different countries keeping close contact with local people, love to exchange views for better planning & exploring new ideas to solve social and engineering problems, enjoy a lot to read success stories.

Erasmus Mundus

Erasmus Mundus was an education cooperation and mobility programme of the European Union that came to an end on 31 December 2013. As from 2014, certain activities supported up to now by Erasmus Mundus became part of Erasmus+, the new EU programme for education, training, youth and sport.

  • Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorates (EMJDs)


    Fellowships for PhD programmes to students from the whole world

    - are joint study and research programmes carried out by consortia of European universities

    - cover up to three years of doctoral activities

    - provide scholarships for students and doctoral candidates to attend these programmes

    - give PhD students a chance to study and perform research at least two European countries

    The study and research opportunities at the doctoral level are offered in a variety of fields of study:

    The European Commission is responsible for the running of the Erasmus Mundus Programme. It manages the budget and sets priorities, targets and criteria for the Programme. Furthermore, it guides and monitors the general implementation, follow-up and evaluation of the Programme at European level. The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) is responsible for the implementation of the Erasmus Mundus Programme. From 2014 onwards, new Doctoral Programmes and additional doctoral fellowships will be available under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, which form part of the EU's Horizon 2020 programme for research and innovation.

  • BANGLADESH AND ERASMUS MUNDUS

    Last year more than 70 Bangladeshi students were selected for the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Program. This year scholarship application process has been started, most of the Erasmus Mundus programs has its own deadline. However, all deadlines are varied from end of the October 2017 to January 2018.     Generally require following documents to submit:

    1. Application form (filled up)
    2. Certificate of Bachelor and/or Masters
    3. Transcript of Bachelor and/or Masters
    4. CV Europass CV format format
    5. Letter of Motivation (max 2/3 pages: why do you want to pursue, why, how your organization/country will be benefited, your conceptual study interest etc)
    6. Two Reference/Recommendation letters
    7. Language proficiency certificates (Generally Tofel/IELTS)
    8. If any extra documents required for any particular program (most of the cases optional)
